Medicine or Miracle - Unraveling the Many Faces of Moringa

Moringa is a goldmine of nutrition but is this true or is it media hype? Does this question cross your mind?

Well, there is no smoke without fire and a quick look at different research studies carried out by professionals offers the same conclusion - that Moringa is a nutritional powerhouse and extremely beneficial to the body. And all of them cannot be wrong!

Moringa is very rich in amino acids, antioxidants, vitamins, and minerals and positively influences our health in several different ways. In Asia and Africa, the ancients attributed several health benefits to the consumption of Moringa and most of these oral legends do have a very strong scientific background, as is being discovered today.

Health Benefits of Moringa

According to a recent study in Uganda, Moringa may have a role to play in the treatment of more than twenty-four medical conditions including HIV-related symptoms, bronchiectasis, ulcers, malarial fevers, hypertension, diabetes, gastritis, asthma, flue, heartburn, skin disease, anti-sepsis, impotence and syphilis.

According to another study, the plant contains valuable compounds like catechol tannins, gallic tannins, steroids, flavonoids, anthraquinones, and reducing sugars that contribute to better overall health. These active compounds are thought to be responsible for the anti-carcinogenic, anti-mutagenic, anti-oxidant, and anti-inflammatory activity inside the human body. Moringa leaves also contain a substantial amount of alkaloids which have a very strong anti-microbial action. The phytochemicals in M.oleifera also improve diabetes by regulating lipid metabolism, and by increasing blood flow in body organs, Moringa plays a role in lowering blood pressure.

Apart from the leaf, the seed and pod of this plant also have tremendous nutritional value. The seed produces oil that has potent anti-arthritic properties. It also seems to control migraines and cleanses the gastrointestinal tract. Researchers state that although traditional practice has long advocated the benefits of Moringa, modern science is still researching the plant and its effects on the human body.

Finding a Pure Source of Moringa

Moringa has tremendous nutritional value due to its high vitamin and mineral content. It is a good idea to supplement your diet with Senyia  powders, capsules or teas, simply because of the nutritional boost it offers your body. Interestingly enough, Moringa supplements could also help to control common chronic conditions like high blood pressure, cholesterol and diabetes as an accessory benefit.

So is Moringa a medicine or miracle? Perhaps, it’s safe to conclude that the seemingly miraculous effects of Moringa are backed by scientific studies, making it a medicine.

Either way, Moringa is a win-win situation for everyone.
